Characterization of Sam

Sam Jones is the first-person narrator (= Erzähler) in the book 'Slam' and talks about an important part of his life. He is 18 years old and retrospectiving the last 3 years of his life.
Sam is an athletic and young person, who hates maths and loves art and wants to go to college and study art.He comes from a broken home,his parents are divorced and Sam lives with his mother, who is 32 years old. His friends are Rabbit and Rubbish.Sam loves skateboarding and talks fanatic and childish to a poster of his big idol Tony Hawk to tell him all sorts of daily problems.When Sam is 16 years old,his girlfriend Alicia gets pregnant. Sam is not very mature and he runs away from problems. He behaves very childish with the fact of becoming a father. Also Sam is very anxious about the future and very dreamy.He is very polite and sensitive and also calm.
