Summary Hastings page 100-114:
Sam decides to run away hoping he can leave all his problems behind, to escape his troubles. He wants to start a new life in Hastings. Hastings is the only other place in the whole of England that he knows because months ago Sam and his mother visited some friends there.
He wants to look for a job on the seafront and a place to live there far away from Alicia and the unborn baby.
He throws his mobile phone in the sea so nobody can phone him anymore. All bad messages, all bad news can't reach him. This imagination makes him kind of happy. But he has no luck in finding a job and he decides to look for the cheapest B&B. There he meets a rude old man who pays Sam twenty pounds for his help and one night in the B&B is exactly twenty pounds and so he has a job and somewhere to sleep in Hastings.
During the night when the old man calls him out of bed to find his remote control he has this disgusting experience. Sam thinks that having a baby cannot any worse than living there with the old man. He gets homesick and feels like an idiot running out on his pregnant-girlfriend, making his mum feeling worried sick because of him being away for a night.
He feels responsible for them for the first time and decides to go back home to marry Alicia and to look after the baby and he won't run away again.
i think that was a really bad decision, because the baby would be born if he´s there or not and so he also has the responsibility for it.
AntwortenLöschenAnd it´s not said that alicia is pregnant at this moment.
It would be better if he talks to alicia about an abortion if he doesn´t want to have a baby.
I don`t think that he decided to marry Alica but besides of that ithink your summary is realy good.
